Connor Gates is a model maker at Blue Clover Studios, where he assists in daily 3D printed part finishes and vacuum forming projects. This consists of taking requests from the industrial designers for new models, as well as sanding and color matching for finished models.
Connor had previous experience with Blue Clover Studios when he interned with the studio for nine months while in school. A graduate from Vincennes University, Connor received a degree in Product Design and Production Processes.
Where and what do you draw inspiration from?
I find inspiration in seeing the projects I’ve worked on displayed on the store shelf. As a model maker, we often see the very beginning stages of a product so it’s great to see it come to life on shelf.
What is the best part about working at Blue Clover Studios?
I like the laid back work environment of Blue Clover. Everyone knows their part and we can all work together to finish a project and create very nice finished products.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
When I’m not at work, I like to play recreational sports. I play basketball for the city Parks Department and participate in multiple softball leagues.
