Scott Fisher is the design director at Blue Clover Studios, where he directs a team of industrial designers, researchers, and model makers while overseeing all aspects of industrial design. This consists of everything from design research and exploration to realization, and prototyping. He is also responsible for setting the design strategy for client and internal branded projects, managing client relationships, and the overall growth and expansion of Blue Clover Studios both domestically and globally.
Scott brings extensive design experience to his role as design director, with more than 24 years of experience in product design, industrial design, and product development. Fifteen of those years were spent at Berry Plastics working in packaging innovation, design, and development, making him an ideal candidate for this position.
Scott is a graduate of Vincennes University, where he received a degree in product design and production processes. He also attended Indiana University’s Kelly Business School Leadership Development certificate program.
Where and what do you draw inspiration from?
I’m a very observational and visual person and believe inspiration can come from anywhere at any time. I often snap pictures with my iPhone regardless of where I am or what I’m doing and store them for later use as a project need arises.. I tend to draw creative inspiration from all products beautiful in form, color and texture—especially products and services that include a unique user experience.
What is your favorite Blue Clover Studios project to date?
We are currently working on an internal project to support our User Centered Design initiative. This project is an approach to design thinking where we place emphasis on consumer’s product usage behaviors through design research methods.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love spending time with my wife and kids watching them play organized soccer, baseball, track, cross country, theater and choir. I am also an avid cyclist, both roadie and MTB. This sport is as much mental therapy as it is physical keeping my mood and outlook on the world in balance.
