This part was designed to reduce fatigue for our Part inspectors as they were experiencing wrist pain during the testing of lid engagement. We developed this device to prevent operators from needing to squeeze lids to remove them. Referencing existing 3D CAD geometry of the lid assembly, we developed a component that automatically disengaged the locking tabs on the lid assembly. This allowed the inspectors to twist the lid off, without the pinching action.
